Samsung Extends Update Periods
Samsung has taken a further step by increasing the phone update period to 6 years on its some new models. This period covers especially the Samsung Galaxy A16 5G and Galaxy A16 4G models for now. Users will be able to benefit from 5 major Android updates and regular security patches for 6 years.
This move gives the message, "Look, my phones also receive security and operating system updates for a long time like Apple phones." and shows that the competition between Samsung and Apple can have positive results for us users.
So, will this step push other phone manufacturers to offer similar support periods?
